Hoekhorst Natalie of Rose 1993 - 2017

On Wednesday, 18th January 2017, we sadly had to say good bye to Germany's most successful welsh pony showing mare of section B so far. We are talking about the mare Hoekhorst Natalie of Rose who was bred in the Netherlands as a daughter of Hondsrug Flamingo (Tetworth Crimson Lake x Roseisle Juniper) and out of the mare Home T'Ranch Nonna (Pendock Plato x Home T'Ranch Natascha).

The grey mare born in 1993, who persuaded national as well as international judges with her nice type, her expression and her movement, could join the list of champions already since a long time.

Besides 5 victories as Overall Champion of section B, she was 4x Reserve Overall Champion section B, 2x Overall Supreme Champion of Show, 1x Reserve Overall Supreme Champion of Show, 2x National Overall Champion Mare of section B and 2x National Overall Champion of section B. But her most important success was the title of the National Overall Supreme Champion of Show at the IG Welsh National Show in 2006 in Remlingen.

Natalie changed into our ownership in spring 2011 as a 18-year-old mare and brought with Kaiserbach's Barnabas her first offspring for our stud in the following year. Barnabas, who's sire is our former stallion Zwaluwenburg's Benjamin (Shamrock Secret Design x Ysslevliedt's Black Tulip), was imported as a yearling to Denmark by Fairy Stud. Even her second offspring Kaiserbach's Benetton, a son of Zwaluwenburg's Benjamin, too, was exported abroad and is now based in France. Her third and last offspring for our stud is Kaiserbach's Noelle of Rose, a nice filly born in 2015 by our stallion Thistledown Lawrence of Arabia (Paddock Sahara x Cottrell Lara).

We want to thank that mare for the joy she brought us through the years especially with her lovely temperament.

Rest in peace

Cottrell Pendragon 1987 - 2012

We are in mourning that on Saturday, 5th May 2012, our stallion Cottrell Pendragon died at the age of 25 years.

Pendragon, who was born at the Cottrell Stud from Mrs Pat Johns-Powell located in Glamorgan in 1987, was an offspring of the legendary Rotherwood State Occasion (Keston Royal Occasion x Rotherwood Honeysuckle), one of the most famous stallions of Section B. State Occasion was not only a guarantor for successful descendants, he also went down in history of Welsh Section B Ponys as one of most successful breeding stallions. So the winner of the Sire Rating List for 11 times followed Tanybwlch Berwyn (*1924), Craven Cyrus (*1926), Criban Victor (*1944) and Downland Chevalier (*1962).

But not only the father was famous for his offsprings. Even the mother Weston Moll Flanders (Weston Gigli x Revel Confetti) was a promising breeding mare and brought a lot of good offsprings. Beneath offsprings like Cottrell Siriol (Rhoson Shalom x Weston Moll Flanders) and Weston Louisa (Weston Charmer x Weston Moll Flanders) even Pendragon's full siblings Cottrell Mary Rose, Cottrell Master Mariner, Cottrell Moonflower, Cottrell Morwenna and Cottrell Sunflower descended from this mare.

Showed by Edwin Prosser (Mintfield) and the resulting successes like the victory at the Lampeter Stallion Show in 1989 Pendragon took Chris Morren's attention (Woldberg Stud) and consequently was imported as a two-year-old to the Netherlands.

After three years at the Woldberg Stud my father Frank Glaser Senior visited a few studs, because he was looking for own breeding stallions and saw Pendragon there. Because of his elegant type, his great pedigree and his lovely character this stallion made a lasting impression and so it didn't need much time until he arrived at our stud in the same year.

As we bought Woldberg's Aria, a daughter of the stallion The Hale Vermillion out of Woldberg's Glory, who was in foal to Pendragon, a little time later Kaiserbach's Poseidon, the first foal with our Prefix, was born.

During his time in our breeding 20 more foals followed for Kaiserbach Stud.

His last offspring is the filly Kaiserbach's Sunset in Red, born in 2013, out of Red Flower Selina by Downland Goldflake.

Pendragon, we were proud to call you our own and thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Time is a great healer, but we will never forget you.

Rest in peace
